Okay so hidden beaches around the world… yeah these are the kind of places that make you stop scrolling and just stare like “is this even allowed to be this perfect?” I’m sitting here in my apartment in the Pacific Northwest right now it’s like March and still kinda dreary outside my window is fogged up from the coffee steam and I’m daydreaming about ditching all this gray for some insane hidden shore. Seriously hidden beaches have been living rent free in my head lately.
Why Hidden Beaches Are My Current Obsession (Even Though I’m Kinda Lazy About Traveling)
I used to be fine with regular beaches you know packed with umbrellas kids screaming someone’s Bluetooth speaker blasting whatever. But then I actually went to a few hidden ones and now everything else feels… basic? Like last year I dragged myself to Second Beach up in Washington after a long hike through muddy trails and when I finally got there it was empty except for some driftwood and these giant sea stacks looming like they own the place. I sat there for like two hours just listening to the waves crash feeling kinda small and peaceful but also like I forgot to bring literally any food haha classic me mistake.
Anyway these hidden beaches around the world they hit different because they’re hard to get to so most people skip them. Which is kinda selfishly great for the rest of us who do go.
Some US Hidden Beaches That Feel Like Escaping Reality
Even though I’m in the US we actually have some pretty unreal ones that don’t get the TikTok treatment.
- Second Beach Washington: Like I said short-ish hike rainforest then bam massive rocks wild waves usually almost no one. I went in fall bundled up because wind was brutal but the tide pools were insane tiny crabs starfish everything looking alien. Bring better shoes than I did though I slipped like three times.
- Dry Tortugas Florida: You have to boat or fly in super far out. Old fort crystal water snorkeling that’s next level. I haven’t made it yet but I keep telling myself “this summer for sure” while staring at my bank account lol.

Caribbean and Mexico Spots That Look Fake
These are the ones that make you question if editing apps even exist.
That heart-shaped hidden beach in Mexico? Playa del Amor in the Marietas Islands. Looks completely unreal like nature decided to make a secret pool.

Hidden Beach Marietas Islands
See? From above it’s this perfect little heart cove surrounded by green and rocks. I would lose my mind if I ever got there.
And then Caribbean hidden coves turquoise so bright it hurts your eyes palm trees hanging over white sand. I went to one in the US Virgin Islands years back and got so sunburned because I was too busy staring I forgot to reapply. Rookie move.
European Hidden Beaches That Are Worth the Hike (Or Boat Ride)
Places like Cala Goloritzé in Italy or some in Greece they’re all cliffs pebble beaches no facilities just pure nature.
This one in Sardinia area looks insane crystal water dramatic rocks.

I mean come on how is this real life? I’d probably die on the hike there because I’m out of shape but still worth dreaming about.
My Embarrassing Tips and Mistakes So You Don’t Suffer Like I Did
I’m not gonna pretend I’m some travel guru. I once tried finding a “secret” beach in Oregon thought it’d be easy ended up lost in rain for an hour soaked to the bone and found nothing but rocks. Learned to actually check tide charts weather apps and bring water snacks bug spray layers (even if it’s “tropical”). Reef-safe sunscreen is non-negotiable too because I don’t want to be that person killing the coral.
Go early or off season respect the place leave no trace don’t blast music. These hidden beaches stay beautiful when people don’t trash them.
Okay Wrapping This Ramble Before I Go Down Another Rabbit Hole
Hidden beaches around the world they’re like little reminders that there’s still stuff out there that’s untouched and mind-blowing. Makes me want to get off my couch plan something real instead of just pinning pics.
